Hey guys i just got an 02 gt as a birthday present. everything seem ok until i saw this two holes from the heater hoses on the firewall. i really dont have an idea where they go so before getting the parts i would love to know where do they go? here is a pic... thnaks guys. obviously the heater doesnt not work

lol:kooky:

Then two pipes coming out of the firewall go to the heater core. Looks like they jumped the heater hose yo bypass the heater core, due to being damaged. PITA to replace. There are two heater hoses you will need. One goes to the back pass side of the intake , and the other goes to a pipe that is located on the back of the engine on the drivers side. This is the pipe that runs under the intake to the backside of the water pump. in your pic looks like the upside down"U" hose is the bypass hose that I bet is hooked up to these two lines.

+1, pain in the ass to replace that nipple..I wont go into detail on that but...I can hook you up with pics of how the hose SHOULD be routed if you need.

I would send picture also, but mine looks just like yours does 97GTV. I jumped mine because the heater core is shot and dont have time to rip out the intire dash to remove the heater core. Having Kids96gt send pics would be your best bet.

Before putting the new hoses on you can test your heater core buy plugging one of the pipes coming out of the firewall and hooking up an air line with a shut off valve and an air gage. Use only low air pressure when testing it (around 10 to 15 psi). If you put too mush air psi to it you could damage a good core. if you dont have a gage you might beable to hear the leak. The test only takes a few minute vs a weekend job ripping the dash out to find out the core is still good.

If you hook up the hoses and your heater corw is shot the it will leak out the drain which is located on the front of the firewall aprox 20 inches below the two heater core pipes.
