so got a basically stock 03.
only thing ive added is a flowmaster cat back.
next im getting a k&n intake.
im looking at the smaller pullies and wondered if anyone had some numbers of hp gain on them.
i am considering the 2.93 and the 2.8. the 2.8 will obviously add more hp but how much? should i do a tune after this?
and other little mods for more gain?

The K&N cai is good but there's better out there. I like JLT and that's what I have. If you get the 2.8 ro 2.93 then get a tuner with tune at the same time, either Diablo or SCT XCAL2 or 3. I prefer SCT. If you dont get a tune, you'll definitely be running lean and don't want that. If you buy your tuner, i would highly recommened www.amazonracing.com Rick will hook you up!
All power gains are different on every Cobra and different dyno's different numbers to the rear. If you have the CAI,catback, tune and a 2.8 pulley, you might be pushing around 420-430rwhp. But your car, tune and dyno will determine that.

The FIPK for the cobra is one of the best Intakes out. People are making awesome power with them, including myself. I have a buddy with the identical mods as mine and we have been within a few horsepower on the same dyno with both the eaton and the whipple. He has a JLT straight shot.
OP your intake will work fine. You should look for a used ported eaton since most of the time they will already have a pulley installed. You can find some for as low as 400-500 bucks with a pulley. Swap it out and sell your old blower and make some of your money back. with a ported blower and a 2.76 you could be around 500whp on a stock fuel system with a BAP.
i just had my 03 tuned,it has a 2.8 pulley,stage 4 ported eaton,c&l cia/95mm maf housing,sct big air maf,afco dp heat exchanger,billetflow tb&plenum,catted x pipe,borla catback.483 hp 443 tq.car maxed outinjectors and pump.

Wow, maxed out fuel system on a ported blower? Well every car is different but that is not usually the norm. I ran my stock fuel system with only a BAP on my whipple @ 15#'s and was on the limit but did not max. My dad also has a steggy 4 with a 2.76 with just a BAP,mafia, CAI, magnaflow catback and everything else stock. he made 470/455 on 91 pump on a mustang dyno which reads 8-14% on average lower than a Dynojet. Do you have a BAP, cause there is more pump left with one installed.

FIPK are good but they aren't that great. There's better. I've used all types during the years on different things. but everyone has an opinion.
I know several that has full mods, Stage 4 port, 60lb injectors, bigger mass and so on and barely hit 500rwhp. A few that has all those mods with stage 5 pushing a little over 500rwhp. The 2.76 and ported blower will be hard to hit those numbers unless you have serveral other mods. Also you would have to get it dyno'd for sure cause some cars are maxing thier mass air and a dyno would let you know.
If you can find a ported eaton on ebay, i would go for it but it won't be cheap. That's something you can save up for latter too.

That's alittle to high. My friend has a 2.80 pulley, CAI, accufab TB and plenum, Bassani mid lengths, x pipe, catback, tune, pushing 450rwhp. SAE corrected.
With my mods i'm probably pushing close to 450 with what i have.

Really depends on who does the tune. I've seen them around 450rwhp with the right person doing the tune. Your friend should be pushing more than 450rwhp, something is robbing his car of it's full potential.

Well since I have hit damn close to 500 rwhp myself, I'm pretty sure it can be done. I had a Stage 4 port with 2.76 UPPER ONLY,BAP, Mafia, H/E, Intake, and Exhaust. I made 494/486 on a dynojet, My dad now has the same blower with the same pulley and only a BAP, Mafia, FIPK and magnaflow catback and is making 470/455 on a mustang dyno(roughly 510hp/500tq on a dynojet). These numbers are both on very safe tunes and 21* of timing and 91 pump, It's all in the tune. you could have a used stage 4 and the supporting mods to hit 500 rwhp for a little under $2000 if you look hard enough. you'll spend at least half of that on a pulley only setup.
And you say the FIPK is good but not great? says who?...you? They make the same power they retain the factory elbow and you don't have to use a piece of painted PVC pipe. Plus it's cheaper, sorry I'm not spending an extra 75 bucks on a piece on PVC, thanks

That's cool, i've just seen alot of 03 and 04's that have those mods plus a few more, safe tune etc and pushing almost 500rwhp. But all cars are different. Just like dyno's and different types of dyno's. Also did i say I did a test on CAI's and that's what i'm telling you or whatever? No, so says everyone that i know that has a different CAI than the FIPK. I only know just a couple that have that CAI. Alot prefer different. Also The PVC pipe smooths the air alot better than the rippled inside of the stocker, that's a no duh there. Like i've said, it's all opinion though and if that's what you like, then stick to it.

Oh and younggun04, your car sounds great in the video and nice setup you have. I want a whipple down the road, after I pay it off though, won't be long. How easy was the LFP cooling mod to install? I have a few things waiting on me when i get back and that's one of them.

The LFP cooling mod is pretty easy once you have your blower off. The hardest part is getting the frost plug out and if your careful thats even pretty easy. The instructions are pretty sraight foward and you should have no problems with the install.
well,i dont know if thats a high # for what i got.im just going by the dyno, and what i was told about the fuel system .the timing was set at 20 degrees, and was told that my #s were a bit higher than what they normally see with similar mods.i do not have a bap.it was suggested to get a mafia.
