I just bought an 03 convertible Cobra a few days ago. The delear said everything was stock on it. I am planning on really upgrading it a bunch including getting the Kenne Bell or Whipple upgrade. Anyways I went to the dyno today to get a print out to see where I am starting at stock before I alter everything this weekend, and stock my first pull I ran 414 rwhp and 389 torque. I thought that was really high for a stock. The guy that own the performance place here in Orlando was blown away. He told me there was no way it was stocl, but he went through my entire car, and said it was, and the dealer was right when they told me it was stock. It ran at 8.7 boost, and 13.28 A/F ratio. The second run I used a hypertech programmer and got 425 rwhp, 395 torque, 8.9 boost, and 13.14 A/F. That is stock pulleys and everything the way it came from the factory. Has anyone else got results like this stock. I read that Ford underated their engines, and the dyno guy said that was the highest stock pull he has ever done on a 03 cobra. He said I will see and have really good numbers as soon as I change out the pulley, CAI, Exhaust, and TB. Does anyone else have numbers like that or is my car just a freak? I've only had it a few days, and so far I'm really happy I got out of my GT and into this.
The air fuel was wrong on my post it was 11.68 They said it was rich after I did the hypertech tune, and the original pull was 414rwhp and 389tq., 8.7 boost and 13.14 and then hypertech tune pull was 425rwhp 395 tq., 8.9 boost, and 11.68 A/F ratio. They said the stock pull was lean, and not to get on it before 2,000 rpm or the motor will suffer from it, and then after using hypertech they said it was a little rich, and with a tune from them they could get a ffew more rwhp out of it just in its stock form.
Damn, i thought they only had 390 to the flywheel. But i have heard about ford underrating the engines, but most the time they pull from like 360-370 rwhp stock i thought. But every engine is different.

Yeah, they are actually suppose to be rated at 425hp(when the SC kicks in) but they say 390hp.

Put you a 2.810 pulley on it and a cold air intake and a sct tune and you will be at 450+ on rwhp and around 450+ on rwtq. To much power and you will have to beef up the IRS
As the owner of a stock 2003 Cobra, I have to say I'm totally amazed at the "stock" rwhp rating you dyno'd. I would never say that 415-425 rwhp is "impossible", but it does seem unlikely. I would ask the technicans where you ran the dyno test about the last time they had their dyno calibrated; just to be sure they are giving you the real data. If your test is true? WOW! Be greatful and ... Kick Ass Dude!
The highest i have seen from a stock cobra is 417 whp. Where I'm from theres a cobra with just a 2.76 pulley, CAI, Exhaust, and TB making 500whp on the same dyno I made 500 on with a ported blower and the same pulley. That car is an absolute freak. So if you made those numbers bone stock you are gonna be making big power with a pulley etc..
I like the IRS on the handling and ride side of things but really hate the wheel hop. It's not a big bounce thing, but having to let out of it and then get back on it really sucks. Always smiling. Can the IRS be corrected to keep it from happening? If so what kit, or do you have to get a solid axle out of a mach 1. I don't race but I do get down on it, and would like to stay in it and keep on gettin it. OYEA. I need to do some research on it.

I agree...unlikely. Maybe they did something to influence your numbers. I lurk over at svtperformance.com and the stock rwhp numbers I've seen from their members is anywhere from 360-390 rwhp. Their still underrated, but not that underrated.

You must have some port work done that you don't know about.
There is no way it's stock.

I now am thinking something may have been wrong wiht that dyno or something wrong wiht the new dyno I just did. After having 414 hp stock I added a JLT CAI, 2.75 pulley, idler pulleys, x-Pipes, magnaflow cat back, short throw, Accufab TB and plenum, COP, and a tune and only went up to 458 Hp and 480 Tq. I would have thought that it would have made more than that with all those extra things on it, except the guy that dyno'd and tuned me today said that my fuel system was maxed and I needed new injectors and the boost a pump and I could get some more power that I have being tied up. Shoudn't I be getting better numbers than that, or is that about right?
