Default 1995 Mustang cobra with e-303 cam issues!

i posted a thread up here not too long ago about having idleing issues with a new e-303 cam installed into my 1995 cobra! and i was advised to take it to get tuned because the 94-95 mustangs computers are picky with the e-303 cam! i took it in and got it tuned and a chipped installed to maximize the performance and IM STILL HAVING IDLEING ISSUES!
the dyno shop can't figure out whats wrong with it! they would test drive it and when the car comes to a complete stop then it would die!
Any ideas guys what the issue could be??????????

A lot of the later computers do not like the tight LSA of the E-303 of 110 deg. The computers like to see 114-118 degs. Seems like retarding the timing 4 degs helps some. Hope this helps a bit.

Please.... don't misinterpret the following reply, but your comment regarding the E-303 is not correct, it is misinformation. Or does the CBAZA strategy include a camshaft LSA sensor?.... ..... there is no way the computer will know the camshaft LSA. BTW.... the E-303 is the only cheerleader cam with a CARB exemption.... as in emissions acceptable in CA.

OP, you need to go through the self tests, correct any failure codes that affect idle control, base idle calibration, valve train calibration, valve train geometry setting..... procedures. I have set SN95 systems w/out a tuner device or chip..... with cheerleader cams (B, F, X, E included), TFS1, Schneider, Comp Cams.... and no idle control problems.

no there is no lsa sensor the problem is that with the shorter lobe seperation angle there is less vacum created and that is what screws with picky ecc.

OK..... is there a vacuum or MAP sensor in the CBAZA strategy setup... The answer is no..... therefore, how does it affect the strategy? If the ECM will never know what engine vacuum is, how does it affect its work?

Have you checked the voltage at the TPS sensor during the erratic idle?

IF you don't have a TPS failure code showing........ you do not need to worry about it.... nor should you be setting it to a mythical closed throttle value..... that too, is misinformation.

I didnt say anything about changing the setting...just curious as to what it would be reading. Like you said, "dont take this the wrong way", not everyone is trying to spread bad info...Just collecting info to try and help troubleshoot the issue I dont assume to know more about FI than you Joel, Im still learning! and helping to find the answers to issues like these make us all better mechanics!
