Default F303 Cam?

How rough of an idle is this cam going to have, and where is its power more setup for?
What's your opinions on it?
I'm just asking 'cause I'm getting an engine with one and I don't know the exact specs on it, nor do I have a Ford Racing catalog and I can't find it in my Summit.

If my memory serves me correct, these are the alphabet cams specs...

B303 224* duration, .480" lift
E303 220* duration, .498" lift
F303 226* duration, .512" lift
X303 224* duration, .542" lift

The durations and lifts are the same for intake and exhaust. I know to get the most from the cam you need a good flowing set of heads and intake. Most people with basic h/c/i combos usually run the E303 or an FTI cam.

theres nothing wrong with the alpha cams, im running an E303 and making great power. old tech doesnt equate to bad tech, and newer certainly doesnt mean better. dont get caught up in that game, its all in the combo.

I agree, the Ford cams are just about the worst on the market these days. They have VERY lazy ramp rates. Yeah, they'll make some power, but you'd make more by calling Comp Cams, Lunati, Crower, AFM, or best of all, FTI.

i guess if you race your car and need every last pony and point something seconds, sure. but for a street car/everyday driver its not going to make a real difference.

I'm at Englishtown Raceway every wed night, and sometimes on the weekends, I always hear that The Ford Cams suck, My car is all FMS and its funny how all these guys with mega work , with there Edelbrockl and TFS setups have a hard time keeping up with my lil E cam and my lil P heads, running low 13's at 100,000 miles with no custom chip, and its an Automatic, so i would'nt say the ford cams are lazy, maybe the combo aint just right

Divide valve lift by 1.6 and multipy by 1.7.

I've have a b303 with 1.7(same thing) I like the agrssive sound. Lumps a bit but people notice it. It doen't want to pull untill about 3500rpm

the reason to stay away from the "alpha cams" is that the Ford 302 works better with split durations.

what do you mean by "works better"? can you please explain a little further?

i considered changing the cam at one point but when i went to get the car tuned at Larocca's, Jimmy told me it wouldnt be worth the extra money because i wasnt going to see a huge difference. (if at all)
mind you my car is a street car, not a track car.

so is it worth it to change the cam (again) if im not going to really going benefit from it other than being able to say "yeah i run a blah blah blah cam"

if changing the cam will get me 10-15-20 more ponies over what i have now and stay emissions legal, ill get the new bump stick with the quickness.
