Default Powerhouse Turbo V6 2006 Mustang

After two and a half months of waiting my turbo shipped out on friday, I had gotten a quote of $2100 for installation and tuning at ELD performance, this seemed a bit high to me so i called powerhouse and asked how much he would do it for, to my amazement he said $800 for install and tuning

I quickly looked at how far away powerhouse was from me and he was only..... 6 hours away

So i got bummed figured i'd be paying that $2100 and then i went on streetfire.net and saw this video... 2007 Shelby GT500 Twin Turbo - Video

Immediately i looked on mapquest and they were 2 hours away!

So i called them and they not only said they have installed this turbo before but they would do it for $1300 and get me 400 RWHP on my 9 PSI spring! I thought this was fishy so i called Powerhouse and Mike (powerhouse owner) said it's true, they are amazing.

Yesterday i took the 2 hour drive up there which was a pain in the butt! 4 friggin tolls and since i had my gf drive in a separate car behind me it was the equivalent to 8 tolls, i ended up in inner city Baltimore trying to find an ATM so i could pay the tolls!

Anyways I got there and was very impressed with the shop or should i say shop(s) because they owned the exhaust store (mighty mufflers) accross the street.

I should have the car back by saturday or next monday and believe me their will be videos, Nelson (the installer) said he might make a video like the one i showed above out of my car!

So far I highly recommend Evolution Performance and as a kicker i decided to put the 11 PSI spring in my turbo, so 400+ rwhp here i come

Sweet, I'm towing my car there in 2 weeks to have Lund tune it. He will probably tune yours as well.

Get a speedpass from Giant for your trip back up and back. They give you a $25 credit.

Yea Evolution is great, they just called me actually, only problem is im looking at more money now because my turbo kit is built for dual exhaust and i only have single... kinda blows because im looking at $400 extra or $150 extra to fabricate for a single exhaust which would be a waste because im going dual eventually anyways. Time to sell something lol.

If you can make sure you get back up there for the dyno tune. If Jon Lund is doing it, I hear he will share tons of info with you and explain everything that is going on.

Wait, so 400+ rwhp in a V6? I didn't think the engine could (safely) take that without some major modification???

I would definitely love having a 400+ rwhp V6...especially seeing as it's my daily driver!

I would just need to be careful to not break tire traction since cops here are a**holes about that. When one cop pulled me over last fall, he mentioned seeing me breaking traction a few times. I thought he was lying until the snow melted off here and I noticed I did occasionally break traction on accident.

I'll definitely be looking out for your results!

Evo does some good work.

Are you going to get a take off 8.8 and what fuel system are you going to run?

Your going to need some serious rear suspension and breaks as well.

Best of luck with it. Just dont think your done any time soon spending money. Not to be optimistic but chances are some thing is going to break and your car will be down for a while seems like it all ways works that way lol. My car has probably a year and a half of down time from breaking crap from the power my car made.

Just take it easy until you can start replacing stuff.

What is the V6 rated to for power? 400rwhp thats a FREAKING LOT for a stock engine. What are they like 160 stock? thats like a 110% increase in power

...150%... And I'm with you on that being a lot for the stock engine. I didn't think you could do it or else there would probably be quite a few v6 people pushing that kind of power. The shop sounds like a good one though, so I thought they may have had a trick up their sleeve or something.

im Definetly getting the 8.8 take off when i get the money, i had already bought a t-lok for the 7.5 but thankfully never installed it because i learned that the 7.5 will definetly not last with the power im going to put out.

As for the 400 rwhp i hope my engine lasts, i was told the connecting rods were the weak part of the engine, can someone give me a link to an aftermarket set that would withstand the horsepower im going to put out and any input on other supporting mods would be fantastic.

I would run lower boost but i was given a 9 PSI spring and an 11 psi spring and they said 9 psi would give me 400 rwhp and 11 would be obviously be over that much.

Mike from powerhouse told me you can run 15 psi on the stock block but when they tried a 75 shot of nitrous with it then stuff blew up.

The only thing i know to get is a 8.8 take off with either 3.73s in it or 4.10s.. and since i will be racing i need a new driveshaft to go over 115 safely. Then those connecting rod things..
