From what I understand you dont have to remove the heads when you change the cams if your using the NSR and not removing the springs Is this correct.
And I understand that you only get 30 to 40RWHP with these cams that what I want. But when you think of the cost of head gaskets, new bolts, lash adjusters and springs and $700 to $800 stage 3 comp cams and someone to install them you get a price of over $1800 for 80HP no including a tune thats a waste I think. I get 125 from my NX for only the 900 I spent for BH and purge kit.
I have heard of these NSR cams pumping out 35 to 40RWHP commonly with a good tune.

I haven't seen anyone getting 80HP out of ANY cam install. Maybe when you add the nitrous you'll get that much extra tho.

25-30 is what I have seen from quite a bit of researching.

Nah, I'm about to do some cams too so just happen to be trying to get maximum info before I do it too. They say you need a special tool to wedge the timing chain, but I saw someone else on here made their own. In any case, it shouldn't move....not sure it's really even needed at all. Just mark the chain and the crank and whatever else looks good.
FYI I think I saw someone had a special on the comp nsr cams for $579. You might want to jump on that price.

What STL said is going to be 200% correct
the Stage3 comp cams, and similar levels of performance cams will maybe get the 40 out of it, the other NSR cams will see between 20 and 30. (I tried to educate myself on cams a bit more after someone tried to claim having the VSR comp cams in his car, and that he was able to have 50 extra hp from them. Also that he had never tuned his car, and that everything else was stock. He also didn't want to start his car up.

Can anyone justify why this special wedging tool is needed for the timing chain? I just don't see any reason this is necessary at all if you mark the chain. It could be moved back to the same spot if it somehow moved.
