Planning a 5 month storage. I was going to fill the tank and add fuel stabilizer, should I remove or disconnect the battery? Anything to lubricate cylinder walls? etc. Vehicle will be in unheated garage.
Stabil and a bottle of dry gas will help. It would be best if you could start the car and run to operating temp every couple of weeks if you can.
Agree-I know folks say the oil does not get up to temp but I've always done this with my old cars. I use a quick disconnect on the batteries to play it safe (don't care about the clocks), try to start them up every 3 weeks, run them up and down the driveway a few times to use the brakes.

You could also hook up a Battery Tender to keep battery in shape. Put mine up for the winter last year for about 4 months, used sta-bil and battery tender, covered her up and all went well. This year put her up Nov 1 doing all the same along with putting some rubber garage mats under wheels to keep them off the cold concrete garage floor. Naturally, after putting her up, we'd have some nice Indian Summer days, like today, got up to 75...oh well.

Last winter the Stang was in storage so what I was doing is every 2 weeks I would start the engine and let it go up to operating temp...I was moving the car every time too to prevent flat spots and use the brakes too..Filled up the gas tank but didn't use any gas stabilizer though...
Really felt the pain today. Sunny and 55 at 10am. Got up to 75 again. Great football and mustang weather. Wife was out running around topless....(her vert), while I worked. Something wrong with that picture.

Hope it stays that way! I'm traveling to Wright-Pat again next week.
