Default 2005+ steering stop installation

I have searched the AFM Forums and haven't seen the answer to this question.

I am looking at 18 inch bullitts for my 2005 GT.

The FRPP website says

"For vehicles with 17" wheels from the factory: -installing 18" x 8.5" or 18" x 9.5" wheels, use steering stop 6R3Z-3932-CA

I have looked in a few catalogs and haven't seen this part listed.

Has everyone that has upgraded to larger wheels used the appropriate steering stop on their 05-07 Mustang?

Is it a necessity that the stop be installed?

What is the difficulty of installing the stop?

Thanks

I don't think you will need it. What size tire do you plan on using in the front? . We have run as wide as 275/45ZR18's on our 06 Mustang GT with no problem on 18 x9.5 wheels. No rub problems here. I have never heard of anyone using the steering stop.

Default Thanks for the reply

That's just it I'm still tring to figure out from those who've upgraded Tires and wheels just what the ideal size 18" combination is.

Why go with 18 x 9.5 rims over 18 X 8.5?

Is it solely for looks or does it allow you to use a wider tire as well?

I just think the 18" black bullitts will set my car off and I would gain a little in the handling/cornering department as well?

any links to pics off Greyish 2005+ GT's with black Bullitts is appreciated.

BTW I have been looking I just haven't found any pics yet.

Thanks

I don't know what that part is but I put 18x9 wheels on my 05 mustang with no problems at all.
