Default P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control malfunction.

P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control malfunction.

My car has been throwing this code for awhile, and i can't figure out why.
Has anyone had any experience with this code?
And yes, the gas cap has been checked, and is fine.

Forgot to mention, because i didn't think it would be nescessary with it being in this forum, but its a 2006 gt manual.

Welcome aboard... Gas cap won't cause a P0446. Could be either a damaged cannister vent solenoid, plugged cannister, or a bad PCM. Sounds like it needs to go in.

I'd bring it in, if i didn't have to put it back to stock, and if it wasn't my only vehicle i depend on.
About to start clearing some canisters. I'm thinking its the Eva Canister Purge Valve

That would be my guess. And that's pretty easy too.

okay I got this same code recently and have not been able to figure it out either its on my 2006 v6 but every component is essentially the same. Checked the gas cap because thats what ford had said as well. Seems it is not the problem.

Have you had any luck yet? I was about to look for it right now and it is 2am. Had this problem for almost 2 weeks.

Just fixed it. I guess i'm the first person with the 05+ to have it, and not run immediately to the dealer to fix it. As much as i'd love to have not spent a dime on t (cost me $50), i like knowing what it is on the car that needs to be fixed, and exactly how to do it.
Anyways, i've attached two pictures. One is the part you need to replace, and the second is where its located.

Right on, thank you. I can take mine in the dealer but I guess I am the same as you I have a greater satisfaction the other way. That part cost you $50 though?
